This summer, you have lots of options when it comes to accessorizing. Five heritage footwear brands have partnered with beloved fashion labels to create colorful patterned sneakers and slip ons you won’t want to take off.
Superga x LoveShackFancy
Rebecca Hessel Cohen, founder of vintage-inspired fashion labelLoveShackFancy, has partnered with Italian tennis shoe maker Supergaon a line of sneakers and sandals for women and children. Think classic sneakers in whimsical, hand-painted pastel florals with ribbons for laces and eyelet details. “If I am ever wearing sneakers (I’m a high heels girl or barefoot girl), my go-tos are vintage white Supergas,” says Hessel Cohen. “So, when they came to us about a possible collaboration a year ago, it seemed like the perfect match.” The brand took its favorite summer patterns and played around with ribbon combinations to create a mother daughter collection featuring two styles for women: a sneaker offered in seven colorways and a sandal and two styles for children in four colorways. “Creating a line of sneakers with Superga that feels just as romantic and whimsical as the clothing collection felt like the most authentic evolution into footwear for us. We want our girls to feel the LoveShackFancy essence from head to toe: a LoveShackFancy dress on top and a Superga x LoveShackFancy sneaker or sandal on the bottom.”

SeaVees x Hoffman California Fabrics
SeaVees has collaborated with heritage textile brand Hoffman California Fabrics on the new Hoffman California Magnum collection featuring two of its classic sneaker silhouettes in famous Hawaiian prints. The iconic Black Star Orchid and Red Jungle Bird patterns, best known from their 1980’s exposure on the hit show Magnum P.I., have been pulled from their archives. The resulting eight styles for men and women, the Legend Sneaker Magnum and the Hawthorne Slip On Magnum, have been reproduced in the California cool sneaker brand’s most popular legacy styles to showcase Hoffman’s artwork. “With Hawaiian prints being the ultimate party shirt, we were looking to do a party shirt for your feet for summer 2019,” says Steven Tiller, SeaVees’ founder and CEO. “Our research led us to Hoffman California Fabrics, the creator of some of the most iconic tropical prints of all time. We reached out to Hoffman with our design inspiration for the season, intent on celebrating mid-century tiki bars in Los Angeles. They loved the idea and agreed to open their archives. We quickly found an abundance of tiki-themed goodness and immediately got to work.”
Vineyard Vines x Sperry
Vineyard Vines was founded by brothers Shep and Ian Murray in 1998 and continues to make clothing and accessories with that signature preppy aesthetic in mind. This summer, the brand will unveil its collaboration with boat shoe label Sperry. “This collaboration represents the ultimate partnership of two iconic New England-based brands,” says Tom Kennedy, Sperry’s president. Three classic styles, the Authentic Original boat shoe, Seaside Slip-on and Striper II CVO Sneaker, have been adorned with Vineyard Vines’ trademark whale designs and patchwork prints. “We started our company with the mission to create quality products inspired by living the good life with our family and friends, much like Paul Sperry did over eighty years ago,” said Ian Murray, Vineyard Vines’ CEO.
